Report: David Shaw not interested in NFL

We wrote earlier that while Stanford wouldn’t (likely) need to worry if another college program came a calling on David Shaw, the NFL could be an entirely different matter.

Reportedly, that won’t be the case either.

ESPN‘s Adam Schefter, citing two sources familiar with the situation, is reporting that Shaw is showing no interest in the NFL and will remain with the Cardinal. With the Houston Texans already in the process of searching for a head coach, Shaw was reportedly on that organization’s radar.

As Schefter wrote, Shaw “is expected to be on the radar of just about any NFL team making a head-coaching change.”

Shaw is finishing his third season at Stanford after replacing Jim Harbaugh, who left for an NFL job following the 2010 season. In those three seasons, the Cardinal has gone 34-6, won two Pac-12 titles and earned three BCS bowl berths.
