Report: Oklahoma CB Aaron Colvin tears ACL at Senior Bowl

Former Oklahoma cornerback Aaron Colvin was injured during Senior Bowl practices in Mobile, Ala., on Tuesday and the word is that he has torn his ACL, according to a Tweet from the NFL Network.

If true, the injury could effectively end Colvin’s rookie year before it begins. The just-graduated Sooner was one of the top cornerbacks in the country the last couple seasons. He had 55 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and an interception in 2013.

At 6-foot, 192 pounds, Colvin has the size and athleticism that the NFL craves and was likely to have been drafted in the first three rounds. Now, his draft stock will plummet, though some team will take him based purely on his potential. This time next year, when he is all healed up, he should be ready to take his place as a quality NFL corner.

UPDATE: Confirmation of the ACL tear was later Tweeted out by Colvin’s agent.
