Hawaii looks to ex-Army assistant to fill coaching hole

With two holes on his Hawaii coaching staff left to fill, Norm Chow looked to the other side of the country to fill one of those openings.

The school announced in a press release late this past week that Chow has hired Wayne Moses as the Rainbow Warriors running backs coach. Moses spent the 2013 season as an assistant at Army, his only tear at the service academy.

“Wayne is a tremendous football coach who comes to us with a wealth of experience at both the college and professional levels,” Chow said in a statement. “We’re awfully fortunate to have him join our staff. I’ve known Wayne since our USC and UCLA days and he’s as loyal and hard-working coach you’ll find and who will only make our staff better.”

In addition to his brief time at Army, Moses has also served on coaching staffs at, among others, USC (2001) and USC (2008-2010). Chow was the Trojans’ offensive coordinator during Moses’ one year at USC.
