Talented young Texas A&M wide receiver transferring

Texas A&M wide receiver JaQuay Williams is looking for a new college football home, according to reports. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports the Aggies receiver is transferring out of the Texas A&M program, but he is leaving on good terms and just looking for a better fit and situation.

“It was the distance, and standard things that college kids go through,” Kevin Ofchus, Williams’s uncle told the AJC. “Things just didn’t work out, and that happens sometimes. It’s no big deal. There’s no issues or anything like that.

“He left Texas A&M on good terms and he’s looking forward to moving ahead. He’s just looking for a place to fit in.”

As a freshman in 2013, Williams appeared in 11 games and caught four passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. The former top prospect in the state of Georgia is expected to look at options a bit closer to home, although there is no suggestion on which programs he may evaluate.

If Williams transfers to an FBS program he will have to sit out the 2014 season due to standard NCAA transfer rules. He may play right away this fall if he transfers to a lower level.
