Report: Washington State LB arrested for pellet gun incident

I may not be the smartest person out there, but I do know pointing a gun at a student is not something you should probably be caught doing. Just ask Washington State linebacker Ivan McLennan. McLennan was reportedly arrested earlier this week for just that.

The Spokesman-Review reports McLennan was arrested for “unlawful handling of weapons capable of producing bodily harm after pointing a nonlethal Airsoft pellet gun at a student.” The report cites information form a Pullman police report, which states police received a phone call from a student claiming McLennan was pointing the pellet gun at a student in a parking lot. This apparently was not the first time police confronted McLennan about his pellet gun responsibility either, which escalated the cause for alarm.

A Washington State spokesperson confirmed to College Football Talk McLennan is still on the team. McLennan sat out the 2013 season with a redshirt after transferring from a junior college. He was expected to compete for a significant role on the Washington State defense this year. If convicted to the full extent of the law, McLennan could be looking at just about a year in jail or a $5,000 fine.
