Florida CB Hargreaves carted off at practice

The Florida Gators saw some hot tempers flaring in a Thursday night practice, and it may have been costly. As fights were broken up during a tackling drill, star defensive back Vernon Hargreaves was limping out of the dust-up and had to be carted off the practice field.

Florida fans are now holding their collective breath right about now.

#Gators CB @_VH3 is up and limping badly to get on the cart to take him off. Leaving the field.

Hargreaves led the Gators in 2013 with three interceptions and he broke up 11 passes. He also saw some limited special teams duties, but his role on the team had clearly been found on defense, and he figured to be one of the top defensive performers on the Gators this season. Of course, that may still be the case as we do not know the status of the injury at this time.

Hargreaves was named to the preseason All-SEC First Team Defense.
