Sooners to be without their Ford for another game

As has been the case the past two games, it’ll likely be up to true freshman Samaje Perine to carry a sizable chunk of Oklahoma’s running game load.

Not so unexpectedly, Bob Stoops confirmed that Keith Ford will not play in OU’s rivalry game against Texas Saturday. It was originally reported that Ford suffered a broken bone in his foot and would be out 2-3 weeks; recent reports indicate that the sophomore has a broken fibula.

Ford has missed the past two games, a win over West Virginia and loss to TCU.

Prior to his injury in the third game of the year, Ford was leading the Sooners with 197 yards and five rushing touchdowns. He was also the third-leading receiver with 100 yards on six catches, adding in another touchdown through the air for good measure.

With Brown sidelined, Perine has rushed for 329 yards and seven touchdowns.
