Season over for Arizona WR Nate Phillips

While it’s a position as deep as there is in the country, Arizona’s receiving corps has nonetheless taken a hit that’ll last the remainder of the year.

During a Tuesday teleconference, Rich Rodriguez confirmed that Nate Phillips will miss the remainder of the 2014 season due to a foot injury. Phillips will undergo surgery Wednesday to repair the damage.

The receiver sustained the injury in the first half of this past Saturday’s win over Colorado.

This season, Phillips started five of the Wildcats’ nine games. He’s fourth on the team in receptions with 25 and receiving yards with 272 after leading the team in those categories last season.

Phillips is one of six Wildcats with 20-plus catches on the year and one of 10 players in double digits.
