Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight cleared to play in Russell Athletic Bowl

Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight has been cleared to play in the Russell Athletic Bowl, the program announced on Saturday.

Knight was diagnosed with transient quadriplegia after being carted off the field in the Sooners’ 48-14 loss to Baylor on Nov. 8. He missed the Sooners’ wins over Texas Tech and Kansas and last Saturday’s loss to Oklahoma State. Cody Thomas served as his replacement and completed 24-of-52 passes for 294 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions in Knight’s absence.

Bob Stoops remained hopeful Knight would return for the Sooners’ bowl game, and that hope was rewarded Saturday.
