Urban Meyer not expecting any Buckeyes to leave early for NFL

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said Sunday he does not expect any players to be leaving the Buckeyes a year early to pursue NFL dreams. That means offensive tackle Taylor Decker and defensive tackle Adolphus Washington are expected to return for another year in Columbus.

Meyer announced Sunday morning during a joint press conference with Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich both Decker and Washington informed him of their decisions. Both were the only two underclassmen expected to consider a possible early departure for the NFL off the Ohio State roster.

Decker earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2014 as an anchor on Ohio State’s offensive line that protected young quarterback J.T. Barrett for much of the year. Washington earned honorable mention for All-Big Ten consideration after recording 45 tackles and 3.5 sacks this season.
