Court hearing scheduled for Boise State quarterback

Ryan Finley, the potential starting quarterback for Boise State, has a court date next month after pleading not guilty to a pair of misdemeanor charges. The charges come from an incident last month in which Finley was charged for possession of an alcoholic beverage as a minor and resisting or obstructing officers.

As reported by Chadd Cripe of The Idaho Statesman, Finley is scheduled to appear in a pretrial conference on June 15 and a jury trial is scheduled for July 10.

Boise State will be likely to let the legal system play out in full before coming to any decisions on Finley’s status with the team. The quarterback ended the spring looking to be the starting option for the Broncos in the fall, but it remains to be seen how or if this recent legal situation could impact that outcome.

Boise State has not yet commented on this situation.
