You can all stand down. Today won’t be D-Day for Everett Golson after all.
Late last week it was reported that Golson, who announced a transfer from Notre Dame earlier this month, would likely be announcing his new college football home at some point on Monday. However, Brett McMurphy of ESPN.com is now reporting the quarterback won’t be making a decision Monday.
Instead, McMurphy wrote, Golson “may visit more schools.” Just which schools those are weren’t detailed.
Florida State remains the favorite to land Golson, although not nearly the lock it once appeared.
FSU was on a list of 10 potential transfer destinations submitted to ND’s compliance department and approved by the school. Others on the list are believed to include Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and at least one unnamed Pac-12 school.
It’s believed that, in the end, Golson will land at a school in a Power Five conference.
