Dismissed Indiana DB Allen was recorded selling drugs to police informant

Indiana defensive back Antonio Allen racked up quite the list of drug-related charges earlier this week, something never seen before on College Football Talk. That was more than enough reason for Indiana to act swiftly in handling the situation on their end of things. Shortly after initially issuing an indefinite suspension to Allen, Indiana has now dismissed him from the program.

Allen was arrested on Tuesday while leaving Indiana’s Memorial Stadium. He was charged with dealing cocaine and dealing heroin with a firearm (both are Level 2 felonies) and a lesser charge of dealing methamphetamine. Indiana dismissed him from the program after Allen was released from Monroe County Jail on a $75,000 surety bond and a $1,000 cash bond, per The Indy Star. The Indianapolis newspaper also reported some other details leading up to Allen’s bust with information from the court documents.

The Indianapolis newspaper also reported some other details leading up to Allen’s bust with information from the court documents. State police used an informant to purchase drugs from Allen on two separate occasions, each involving over $600 in cash transactions. The informant used hidden video and audio devices to record the interactions and transactions. The video surveillance reportedly captures Allen counting money and weighing narcotics and the location was his apartment. Allen is not the only one facing legal trouble in this of course. It turns out the informant is also in hot water after allegedly attempting to take meth

For now, football is off the table at Indiana and just about anywhere else. The legal process will have to run its course before Allen can figure out what will come next for him.
