Leonard Fournette is now your official Heisman Trophy (betting) favorite

Leonard Fournette has already been anointed as the best player in college football by all-knowing oracle LaVar Arrington, and now the wise guys in Vegas have agreed.

The LSU running back was designated the overwhelming betting favorite through the season’s first month by Bovada on Monday.

Fournette was trailed by Georgia’s Nick Chubb and TCU’s Trevone Boykin (7-1 each), Baylor’s Seth Russell (8-1), then Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott and USC’s Cody Kessler (12-1 each).

Fournette leads the nation in rushing - by a mile - with 210.33 yards per game, nearly 50 yards ahead of Indiana’s Jordan Howard in second place. Despite playing just three games to everyone else’s four, Fournette is just 44 yards behind Howard for the cumulative yardage lead with 631 yards and eight touchdowns on only 73 carries. His 8.64 yards per carry average is rivaled only by Chubb among players with at least 60 attempts.
