Karl Dunbar launches Twitter account to make Alabama hire all but official

Alabama head coach Nick Saban has said Alabama will always manage to hire good quality coaches when the need arises. Following the dismissal resignation of Bo Davis as defensive line coach amid recruiting controversy, Saban and the Crimson Tide are bringing in a veteran defensive line coach with NFL experience, as previously reported.

Karl Dunbar, a former LSU football player who has coached defensive line at various stops since 1998, is expected to be named the new defensive line coach for Alabama, according to multiple reports. Alabama has not made any official statement, but Dunbar has gotten the ball rolling by launching a new Twitter account (assuming that is, in fact, him).

Dunbar is also a former Saban assistant at LSU, where he was a strength and conditioning coach for Saban’s Tigers in 2000 and 2001. He has been coaching the position in the NFL since 2006 between stints with the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills. Given that experience, it stands to reason Dunbar would bring some good insight to Alabama in coaching the defensive line and would help prepare Alabama’s linemen for the next level. All things considered, seems like a good hire for Alabama.
