Jourdan Lewis to miss second straight game for Michigan

Jourdan Lewis missed Michigan’s season opener for what was described as a precautionary measure. A week later, is it time for a little more concern when it comes to the starting cornerback?

Ahead of UM’s game with UCF, the Wolverines confirmed that Lewis will be sidelined a second consecutive week because of injury. Thus far, the Wolverines have declined to release the specific nature of the injury.

That secrecy led to controversy a week ago as an ESPN analyst, Ed Cunningham, publicly speculated that Lewis was suspended rather than injured. Head coach Jim Harbaugh lashed out at what he considered the unfounded speculation, although the two eventually, metaphorically, kissed and made up.

Last season, Lewis started all 13 games at corner for the Wolverines. He was a first-team All-Big Ten performer.
