Georgia defensive end Jonathan Ledbetter won’t play in this weekend’s game at Mizzou, coach Kirby Smart said Monday, as his alcohol-related suspension continues.
Ledbetter was arrested on DUI charges July 10, for which the Georgia Athletic Association mandates at least a two-game suspension. He also was arrested in March for a pair of alcohol-related misdemeanors.
The sophomore and former four-star recruit played in seven games last year and was expected to contribute on the Bulldogs’ defensive line in 2016.
Georgia is 2-0 after coming back to beat North Carolina and squeaking past FCS side Nicholls State on Saturday.
