Buckeyes’ top rusher in no-contact mode, expected to play vs. Terps

Coming off arguably its most impressive win of the season, Ohio State is going to be extra cautious with its bellcow in the running game.

During the Week 10 woodshedding of then-No. 10 Nebraska, Mike Weber sustained a shoulder injury in the third quarter. Because of a combination of the injury and the blowout, the running back didn’t return.

The redshirt freshman, though, should return for the Week 11 game against Maryland, albeit without taking any hits during practice in the days leading up to the road trip.

He should be fine for the game,” head coach Urban Meyer said. “No contact this week in practice.”

Weber currently leads the Buckeyes with 842 yards rushing and seven rushing touchdowns. His last 100-yard game came in Week 5 against Rutgers. He does, though, have five of his rushing touchdowns since that game.
