Four-star 2018 signee Jaquayln Crawford to transfer from Oklahoma

One of the most touted members of Oklahoma’s 2018 recruiting class will continue his collegiate playing career at somewhere other than Norman.

On Twitter Tuesday, The Athletic‘s Jason Kersey reported that Jaquayln Crawford has decided to take his leave of the Sooners and transfer. An OU official subsequently confirmed that Crawford’s name is now officially listed in the NCAA transfer database.

As we’ve stated myriad times over the past year or so, Crawford, who began his career at wide receiver before moving to cornerback, has the option of pulling his name from the portal and remaining with the Sooners.

Crawford was a four-star 2018 signee, rated as the No. 9 athlete in the country and the No. 19 player at any position in the state of Texas. Of the 23 members of OU’s class that year, only seven signees were rated higher than Crawford.

Despite that recruiting pedigree, Crawford played in just one game -- the 2018 Kansas game last November -- during his time with the Sooners.
