Haden brothers heading to Toledo

In October of 2009, Josh Haden abruptly and unexpectedly decided to transfer from Boston College. It was thought at the time that the running back could land at Florida, where his older brother was already a highly successful defensive back and his younger brother would ultimately become a member of UF’s 2010 recruiting class.

In August of 2010, Jordan Haden, the aforementioned younger brother, asked for and was granted a release from his Florida scholarship.

In December of 2010, it appears the two brothers of former UF All-American and current Cleveland Browns stud cornerback Joe Haden will be taking their football talents to, of all places, Ohio.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Jordan Haden gave a non-binding verbal commitment to Toledo over the weekend. Additionally, Josh Haden said he will be joining his brother and they will together play with the Rockets in 2011.

“Jordan and I knew that we would go together to our next football home wherever it was going to be and the University of Toledo planned out to fit us both great,” the back told Rivals.com in a text message.

Jordan is expected to enroll next month at Toledo, while Josh is expected to enroll the following semester. The former will have four years of eligibility remaining, the latter two years.

And, once all of the paperwork is completed, both will be within 120 miles of a sibling who, if there is any righteousness left in the world, will be the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year.
