Torn ACL sidelines Texas Tech running back

Texas Tech will now be down two of their top running backs for their season-ending game against Baylor, and perhaps longer if the Red Raiders can get bowl eligible with a win.

Initially classified as a sprained knee in a loss to Missouri on Saturday, TTU running back Deandre Washington tweeted today that he has a torn ACL. The injury marks the second TTU RB to be lost for the season to a knee injury, the other being leading rusher Eric Stephens.

Washington was the team’s second-leading rusher with 77 carries for 366 yards and three touchdowns.
