Sooners WR won’t be reinstated from suspension

The good news that three suspended Oklahoma players -- wide receivers Trey Franks and Jaz Reynolds, along with defensive back Quentin Hayes -- were reinstated to the team will be short lived.

Sooners coach Bob Stoops announced Saturday that receiver Kameel Jackson will not be reinstated. Jackson was facing suspension related to academic issues. Stoops said earlier in the week that Jackson’s status with the team was going to be reviewed at the end of the current academic session.

Apparently, Jackson didn’t do enough.

The dismissal ends what has been a turbulent few months for the sophomore. Jackson tweeted in May that he was transferring to Texas A&M -- about two days before he, along with Franks, Reynolds and Hayes, was suspended by Stoops. Roughly a week later, though, Jackson again took to his Twitter account to reaffirm his commitment to OU.

Jackson caught 12 passes for 165 yards last season as a freshman.
