Jalen Tabor, Treon Harris suspended for Gators vs. Vols

It appears Florida’s secondary will be depleted for Saturday’s game against Tennessee. And, for that matter, we won’t have to wait until Thursday to find how who’ll start under center as well.

While the university has yet to confirm it, Scout.com is reporting that cornerback Jalen Tabor has been suspended for Saturday’s game against Tennessee for unspecified reasons. An additional report from gridironnow.com confirmed the Tabor suspension, as well as adding quarterback Treon Harris as another suspended Gator for the same day.

The suspensions reportedly arose from violating unspecified university policies.

Tabor started the first two games of the season before assuming a backup role in the Week 3 win over Kentucky. He played in all 12 games as a true freshman last season.

Harris started the season opener, but gave way to Will Grier as the starter each of the last two weeks. There’s also speculation that defensive lineman Alex McAlister has been suspended for the UT game, although that hasn’t been verified by any source.

UPDATED 5:49 p.m. ET: Head coach Jim McElwain confirmed that both Tabor and Harris have been suspended for the UT game. Those were the only two suspensions announced, and each will miss just one game.
