Ex-'Canes LB heading to K. State; brother to follow?

In a move that’s not the least bit unexpected, former Miami of Florida linebacker Arthur Brown has decided to transfer to Kansas State.

Reports first surfaced back in early February that Brown was back home in Wichita, Kan., and would not be participating in the Hurricanes’ spring practice.

Now Brown’s father has confirmed that his son is enrolling at Kansas State and will play football for the Wildcats in 2011 after sitting out the 2010 season.

“I would like to acknowledge that Arthur Brown Jr. will continue his education at Kansas St. University,” Arthur Brown Sr. said in a statement. “We are very happy and elated to have Arthur Jr. back at home, and we appreciate the overwhelming support and kind words we’ve received from the entire state of Kansas, our community, friends and immediate family.

“We are proud to become a part of the K-State family.”

This move could also lead to another Brown family domino tumbling.

According to the Manhattan Mercury, Bryce Brown -- the LB’s brother and one of the most heralded recruits in 2009 before signing with Tennessee -- may be a candidate to join his sibling with the Wildcats. Sources told the paper that the running back wants to wait and see how he fits in new UT head coach Derek Dooley before making a decision on his future.

If Brown the RB ultimately opts to leave Knoxville, obviously Manhattan and a reunion with Brown the LB would very much be in the cards.
