Healthy Pryor gets Buckeyes spring started

There were some fears amongst Ohio State fans -- and possibly even members of the football program itself -- as to just how healthy quarterback Terrelle Pryor would be entering the spring.

After one day, those fears have been allayed.

Ohio State opened spring practice on Thursday and, by all accounts, Pryor was completely healthy and not limited at all physically.

Pryor underwent “minor” surgery on his left knee this past February, although that wasn’t on head Jim Tressel’s mind at the start of spring. Rather, the coach wants to see a more mature player who’s not as much up-and-down emotionally depending on how things are going.

“He’s never going to stop being a tremendous competitor - I don’t want him to - but I also want him to (realize) if he’s going to throw 1,000 balls, there’s going to be a few that are incomplete, and we’ve got to take those in stride,” Tressel said according to the Columbus Dispatch.

If the Rose Bowl win over Oregon was any indication, that’s exactly the direction Pryor is headed.
