Violations committed in the recruiting of Seantrel Henderson

And, in the mother of all upsets, they do not in any way, shape or form involve Lane Kiffin or USC.

(Yeah, like I’d pass that one up.)

(And don’t tell me you weren’t thinking the exact same thing when you read the headline.)

According to ESPN.com‘s Joe Schad, it was Minnesota (???) that apparently committed at least one recruiting violation in their fruitless pursuit of Seantrel Henderson, the All-American left tackle from Cretin-Derham High School in their own backyard of St. Paul, Minn.

Henderson, after a protracted recruiting process that started with a nationally-televised verbal commitment on Signing Day but then a non-signing of his Letter of Intent due to the NCAA’s investigation into the Trojans football program, ultimately signed with USC on March 23, but not before the Gophers apparently committed what head coach Tim Brewster labeled as a violation that’s secondary in nature.

Minnesota has self-reported the violations -- the nature of which were not specified -- to the NCAA.
