Ingram, Dareus get the start for ‘Bama

Just to tie up a bit of a loose end, not only will Mark Ingram play Saturday as expected, but he’ll resume his job as the Tide’s starting running back as well.

So says head coach Nick Saban, who announced earlier today that the reigning Heisman winner will start in Saturday afternoon’s non-conference game against Duke.

“He’s done well,” Saban said of Ingram. “He’s running fast and hard and cutting and doing well.”

Ingram underwent arthroscopic surgery nearly three weeks ago, causing the junior to miss the first two games of the regular season. Trent Richardson started in Ingram’s place both games, and should see extended duty again today as well as it’s expected the Tide will somewhat limit Ingram’s carries.

Ingram isn’t the only Tide player coming back and regaining his job; defensive tackle Marcell Dareus will start today after sitting out the first two games due to an NCAA-imposed suspension.
