Locker gets the all-clear from UW medical staff

Earlier in the day Tuesday, head coach Steve Sarkisian was still publicly uncertain as to whether Jake Locker would be healthy enough to take the field Thursday against UCLA.

“I don’t know yet,” Sarkisian said following Washington’s practice. “I don’t know what I’m going to do. We’ll see what happens.”

Late last night, Sarkisian did what all the cool kids -- and coaches -- are doing these days. He went to Twitter to announce some fairly big news.

The all-clear from the medical staff does not exactly constitute a major surprise -- especially to Bruins coach Rick Neuheisel -- as it’s been thought that the quarterback would be sufficiently recovered from a broken rib to play. Locker did miss the Huskies last game Nov. 6 because of the injury, but returned to practice over the weekend and was clearly in line for a return, despite Sarkisian’s reticence for optimism.
