Manuel likely a game-time decision for FSU

The optimism is still there when it comes to EJ Manuel‘s availability this weekend, but a final decision will likely not come until sometime around kickoff.

At least, that’s the latest word coming out of Tallahassee on the status of Florida State’s starting quarterback. Manuel separated his shoulder in the loss to Oklahoma Sept. 17, then missed a loss to Clemson the following week.

Following FSU’s bye weekend, Manuel participated fully throughout this week’s practice sessions. Head coach Jimbo Fisher seemed encouraged by how Manuel has progressed this week, but stopped short of pulling the trigger and naming him the starter for the game against Wake Forest.

“He actually threw the ball well,” Fisher said. “He threw the deep ball really well. … We’ll see how he’s feeling and judge on some things as we get to game time.”
