Jackson State the new home for ex-Ole Miss WR

Wednesday morning, Tobias Singleton decided to take his leave of the Ole Miss football program.

Just a handful of days later, however, the wide receiver has found a new football home.

Jackson State coach Rick Comegy has confirmed that Singleton has indeed decided to transfer into his FCS program. The receiver will be enrolling at the school shortly and will be eligible to play immediately.

Singleton first contacted Comegy the day he decided to transfer, and visited the campus on Thursday.

He’ll make a great contribution, I know that for a fact,” Comegy told the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. “I’ve watched him play enough to know that he’ll make a great contribution and he’ll fit in great with the guys that are here already.”

A four-star member of the Rebels’ 2011 class, Singleton was rated as the No. 20 receiver in the country and the No. 5 player in the state of Mississippi. While Singleton had just two catches as a true freshman last season, he did finish sixth in the SEC in kick returns with a 24.6 average.
