Mike Gundy won’t specify starting QB’s injury

Oklahoma State handled Louisiana-Lafayette 65-24 on Saturday without its starting quarterback, Wes Lunt. The freshman went down on the first offensive drive with an apparent knee injury and did not return to the game.

The specifics of Lunt’s injury, as well as his status for this weekend’s game against No. 12 Texas, is still unknown. The speculation is that Lunt has a dislocated knee cap, but coach Mike Gundy would not specify after the game or during his Sunday press conference. Gundy did, however, hint that Lunt’s injury is not all that bad.

The freshman’s knee will be immobilized and injury information will be released Friday.

If Lunt can’t play against the Longhorns, backup J.W. Walsh could get the start. Walsh went 21-30 for 347 yards and four touchdowns against the Ragin’ Cajuns. Texas, obviously, is a little different beast.
