‘Johnny Football’ one of two Camp honorees

A stunning individual performance in a wild win over Louisiana Tech has earned redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel one of the two weekly Walter Camp Foundation honors.

Nicknamed “Johnny Football,” Texas A&M’s redshirt freshman quarterback accounted for 576 yards of total offense as the Aggies beat the Bulldogs 59-57. Manziel passed for 395 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 181 more and three additional scores.

His total offense broke his own school and SEC record that he had set earlier this year. For that, he was named the Camp National Offensive Player of the Week.

On the defensive side of the ball, Rutgers linebacker Khaseem Greene claimed Player of the Week honors. The senior was credited with 14 tackles, 1.5 quarterback sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception as the Scarlet Knights defeated Syracuse, 23-15.
