S. Miss WR transfers to Southeastern Louisiana, too

Over the past month, three LSU players have transferred to Southeastern Louisiana, including two the past couple of days. As it turns out, the Lions will have yet another FBS player on its 2014 roster.

The FCS school announced Thursday that Chris Briggs has transferred into the football program. The wide receiver has been at Southern Miss.

The Baton Rouge Advocate reported that Briggs will be forced to sit out the 2014 season; why the receiver would have to sit out a season after dropping down a level is unclear.

During his time with the Eagles, Briggs caught 26 passes for 368 yards and a touchdown. Briggs played in a total of 31 games, only one of which came in a starting role.
