UConn’s Brian Cespedes charged with assault, breach of peace

Just a couple of days after resetting the “Days Without An Arrest” ticker, it’s time to reset it again.

According to the Hartford Courant, UConn’s Brian Cespedes was arrested by Connecticut state police Saturday and charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. Both of those charges are misdemeanors.

Both of those charges also stem from an incident that occurred this past September. The details surrounding that incident are currently unknown.

The football program has been aware of the situation since it happened nearly three months ago and thus there’s no change, at the moment, to Cespedes’ status with the team. “He remains on the team and is not suspended,” the Courant writes.

Cespedes, a redshirt freshman offensive lineman, wasn’t listed on the Huskies most recent two-deep depth chart.
