Report: Tom Bradley set to leave WVU, take UCLA DC job

It appears Tom Bradley‘s stay at West Virginia could be a relatively brief one.

While there is no word yet from UCLA, Bruce Feldman of FOXSports.com is reporting that Bradley is “close to being hired” as UCLA’s new defensive coordinator. Bradley would replace Jeff Ulbrich, who, much to the chagrin of a touted recruit, left for a job with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.

Bradley, who’s never coached west of the Mississippi River, was hired last February to be Dana Holgorsen‘s defensive line coach.

Prior to that, Bradley spent 32 seasons as an assistant at Penn State, the last 12 as Joe Paterno‘s defensive coordinator. Bradley was named interim head coach following Paterno’s dismissal, but was not retained by new Nittany Lions head coach Bill O’Brien.

Not only that, but Bradley remained on the coaching sidelines for the 2012 and 2013 seasons before landing in Morgantown.
