Michigan’s Woolfolk back to 100 percent after dislocated ankle

A nasty dislocated ankle in the middle of last August robbed Michigan one of its most talented players on a defense that could ill afford that kind of attrition.

While that injury kept Troy Woolfolk‘s status at “very limited” for spring practice earlier this offseason, that won’t be the case when summer camp rolls around.

In a conversation with Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.com‘s Big Ten blog, the Wolverines cornerback proclaimed himself to be 100-percent recovered from the dislocation. Woolfolk, who said he was fully recovered two to three weeks after the spring sessions, is claiming a case of amnesia when it comes to an injury that cost him the entire 2010 season.

“Right now, I don’t even remember getting injured,” Woolfolk said. “Being out there, I don’t feel it. It’s not hampering me in any way. I can stop and break at 100 percent, so it’s not even a factor.

“I feel like I’m going to hit the ground running right away. I don’t think it’ll take a few games for me to get my swag back. I’m going to have it from the jump.”

For a team that ranked 112th in pass defense in the country last year, the addition of any players on that side of the ball, let alone one as talented as Woolfolk, will be a welcome sight for first-year head coach Brady Hoke and his new staff.
