Kelly: Ducks have ‘cooperated fully’ with NCAA

Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday that Oregon’s attempt to land a summary disposition from the NCAA had failed, which will trigger an appearance in front of The Association’s Committee on Infractions in the coming months.

The school has yet to respond to the report, as expected. Thursday, head coach Chip Kelly, whose name has been attached to multiple NFL rumors over the past couple of months, was asked for his reaction to the development.

Just as expected, it was a non-reaction reaction given by the coach. From The Oregonian:

“I really have no feeling on it one way or another. They (the NCAA) have a process and a review that they go through and until they make their findings public, we can’t really comment on it. But we’ve cooperated fully. I haven’t spoken with them in over a year now. All these processes seem like they take a long time, but I’m not surprised by any stretch of the imagination.”

Kelly added that he hasn’t “had one question about” the investigation asked on the recruiting trail.

The UO football program has been under investigation by the NCAA since reports surfaced in March of 2011 that the school had paid $25,000 to Willie Lyles’ Complete Scouting Services for recruiting reports that were either incomplete, out of date or both. Lyles ultimately claimed that UO “paid for what they saw as my access and influence with recruits,” including former five-star player Lache Seastrunk.

UO received a Letter of Inquiry from the NCAA in September of 2011.

According to Yahoo!‘s latest report, the university is expected to appear in front of the NCAA’s COI in the spring.
