TCU loses another offensive lineman, this time for medical reasons

Just about every team goes through roster attrition leading up to, and into, preseason camp. But TCU has taken some big hits over the past several days.

Just earlier this week, the Horned Frogs’ second-leading tackler from a year ago, Joel Hasley, decided to leave the program. Four days before that, offensive lineman Tayo Fabuluje departed for personal reasons.

Now, TCU is losing another lineman in junior Michael Thompson, who was forced to retire with a medical disqualification after multiple knee surgeries.

Thompson started six games in 2011 and played in two games in 2012, but had both seasons cut short because of injury. HIs departure further thins the team’s O-line group that will open the season against LSU.

Right now, a team that returned plenty of starters from a season ago just can’t seem to catch much of a break.
